Our cost and commercial management services encompasses the complete range of quantity surveying, cost, commercial and risk management. We safeguard our clients’ interests throughout every project to deliver tailored, sustainable solutions that meet their objectives.

We have expertise across the range of contract types and procurement methods, regularly advising clients throughout the procurement, tender and project delivery stages. Our cost consultants use BIM cost management software integrated with the design process. This ensures we can intelligently analyse designs to advise on cost effective solutions, and mitigate risks in design and construction.

We are fully conversant with the requirements for auditable procurement and contract compliance. We deliver best value and certainty for our clients by adopting appropriate procurement and contract strategies, putting in place robust contracts and specifications and always being open and transparent in our approach to cost and value management.

Our cost managers work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, supply chains and project teams throughout the project lifecycle to deliver predictability, cost certainty, innovation, and value for money on behalf of our clients. Through early engagement we provide our clients with a realistic whole life understanding of their project investments and in turn they benefit from our proven methodologies to drive cost certainty. We are fully conversant with all forms of contract administration (including NEC and JCT forms of contract), and we utilise industry leading contract management software. We support clients in achieving net zero carbon targets in a measured and cost-effective manner.

We ensure our clients make investment decisions founded on sound cost advice. Our cost managers carry out rigorous research and interrogation of client requirements to look at development costs and risks, and life cycle costs analysis. Our multiple option studies ensure the right decision is made and our clients optimise maximum return on their investments.

In our experience, procuring the right suppliers, contractors and resources are key to the success of every project. We achieve this by carrying out a thorough appraisal that balances project goals, timescales, quality, economy, certainty of price and allocation of risk. This enables us to recommend the most appropriate strategic procurement and contract strategy suited to our clients’ requirements and optimise value for money outcomes.

By understanding and managing the risk exposure of each stage of a project as a single integrated process, our cost consultants reduce uncertainty, maximise value and make a positive impact on our clients’ return on investment.

Our robust risk analysis tools are based on current best practice and centred on an open and collaborative project team approach. Through this process we ensure the cost implications of risk and value are fully understood early in a project, and then managed throughout design development, procurement and, ultimately, construction on site.

We provide expertise in the monitoring and management of developments for owners, end-users, and funders to control the financial, qualitative, and contractual aspects of a project and achieve value for money; in particular for works of a sensitive nature procured through strict funding criteria. We are fully conversant with a wide range of operating and funding models including end of concession planning (PFI). We have considerable experience in undertaking financial monitoring and due diligence work as part of the role of Project Monitor.
