Civil engineering sub-services
Highways and infrastructure design
Our Highways team provides design services for a range of schemes, from large multi-arm roundabouts to smaller bespoke access points for new developments. Highly experienced in S278 and S38 projects, we work with a number of Highway Authorities across the country and are fully familiar with all relevant standards and best practice. We have also completed a number of public realm schemes, delivering high quality spaces that integrate with the wider setting.
Ancillary site works – roads, paths and car parks
We have extensive experience in the delivery of integrated design solutions for external spaces that support a wide range of development types. Working closely with landscape architects, we ensure that planting, drainage and the safety and accessibility of users is considered in conjunction with providing a visually attractive and robust solution.
Transportation and traffic systems
Our Transportation team has extensive experience working as part of multi-disciplinary design teams, supporting the planning and development process through the production of transport assessments, transport statements, travel plans, and car park management plans. We also undertake traffic modelling using the latest software, and work closely with our in-house Highways Team colleagues to develop junction mitigation solutions where required.
In conjunction with our in-house geotechnical colleagues, we develop robust and efficient earthworks proposals for both greenfield and brownfield development sites. Using the latest software we generate a model of the existing ground profile, and then compare this to the proposed ground profile to confirm expected cut/fill volumes. We can bring our experience of ground stabilisation techniques to minimise the volume of material required to be removed from site, thus delivering efficiencies in this key aspect of the overall site development works.
Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
We can provide a comprehensive service for surface water drainage design, incorporating SuDS network systems and individual features. From initial development space planning through to detailed design in line with the latest industry best practice and CIRIA SuDS Manual guidance, to our design team has delivered numerous innovative solutions and can support obtaining all relevant approvals and permits and, where appropriate, adoption of the SuDS elements. The production of SuDS maintenance plans supports our design and ensures the long-term viability and successful operation of these key surface water drainage assets.
