UKHSA Noble House Refurbishment

The Interior Design team was asked to provide an office design which aided with the changing office dynamics following the COVID19 pandemic. The client provided the team with a brief which highlighted the requirements to move beyond a traditional office environment. Looking instead to provide breakout ‘away from the desk’ areas which encourage a more flexible working environment, that inspire collaborative working and interdepartmental communication. As a result, only a small quantity of traditional desks were provided per floor, with the focus on a more adaptable work space.

Located within a listed building the UKHSA offices provided an interesting building structure which posed a unique challenge. Set over 8 floors of the building there were many columns and structural beams. The interiors teams embraced these structural elements and brought them into the design, deciding to highlight them within the space and provide a layout that reflects the natural zones that the building itself creates. By painting the columns and beams a striking black they developed the structure into a feature within the room, that framed different seating areas and provided a location for acoustic panels to be suspended from.

A number of stakeholders we’re involved within the design process to ensure the best layout and outcome was achieved. This resulted in a number of bespoke elements being incorporated into the design, to guarantee a unique outcome that reflects the client’s requirements. Working closely alongside the Building Surveyors team, the Interiors department was able to meet a fast-paced project timeline and develop a design that meets all stakeholder requirements and expectations.
