Next Fashion and Homeware Stores

We worked with Next, a leading retail brand, providing a comprehensive suite of architectural, civil, and structural engineering services. Our involvement spanned the entire project lifecycle, starting from the initial feasibility studies, through securing planning approvals, navigating the tender process, and culminating in the construction phase. In addition to these services, we were also tasked with augmenting the client's in-house shopfitting team. Our role here was to develop detailed specifications and standard fit-out details to ensure consistency and quality across their store network.

Collaboration was a key theme throughout this project. We maintained a close working relationship with the client's estates and shopfitting departments, facilitating a seamless exchange of ideas and information. This collaborative approach enabled us to produce detailed feasibility site layouts, comprehensive planning applications, and all necessary tender and construction documentation.

Our collective efforts were geared towards creating store environments that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible. The emphasis on eco-friendly design was in alignment with our client's commitment to sustainability and their ambition to provide a superior shopping experience for their customers.

Our role as project architects and engineers was particularly highlighted in the development of Next's first two purpose-built stores located in Hedge End and High Wycombe. These projects were pivotal in demonstrating our ability to support the client through the various complexities of developing their retail spaces. Our contributions were instrumental in delivering designs that married high-quality aesthetics with environmental sustainability, setting a new standard for the client's future retail endeavours.
