Your career in 2022 – New Year, New Job

6 Jan 2022

The festive break for most of us is time spent celebrating with friends and family, taking time to relax, reflecting on the year passed, and setting new goals and aspirations for the year ahead. These new goals will often signal change, which can mean an array of things, but for some this can mean a change in career, workplace or even industry. It is estimated that each January as many as 40% of people start looking for a new job! In her latest blog, Pick Everard Talent Acquisition Business Partner, Hope Thorley, offers some advice for candidates looking for a career change.

For candidates considering new career prospects the process can sometimes feel quite daunting as there is quite a lot to consider – updating your CV, updating your LinkedIn profile, researching companies and opportunities, the interview and offer process, as well as your notice period!

At Pick Everard we have evolved our recruitment and selection process and have worked hard to ensure it allows for a positive, efficient, and fair candidate experience. Last year we successfully onboarded and welcomed over one hundred and eighty new employees to the practice and are looking to attract more talent this year, as we make heed with our Plan 25 objectives.

With Plan25 we have embarked on a journey from Good to Great and have set out ambitious aspirations and targets which allows us to create an organisation that inspires careers for exceptional people.

There are many reasons to join us! Over the past 12 months we have been recognised for our achievements within the construction and property industry and have been delighted to win Building Project of the Year at the NEC Awards, Best Large Commercial Project for the Riverside Leisure Centre at the LABC Awards, the Sustainability award for Brunel Centre at the Construction Excellence South West Awards, and Regeneration Project of the Year at ProCon. We were also shortlisted for the People Development award at the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards and Best Response to the pandemic at the ACE Awards.

Our vision at Pick Everard is to create a collective culture, passion and ethos that motivates and drives us to do the right thing, inspiring our staff to deliver better outcomes for our clients, and being accountable for our environment to create prosperous and sustainable communities. Our key focus is to ensure we are providing the best employee experience possible and being widely recognised as an employer of choice. Our business structure enables our employees to have direct access to decision makers and owners of the business, who encourage an open culture. In addition, we work on a national basis, delivering projects for our strong client base, across both public and private sectors.
