Ruairidh Deans, Senior Structural Engineer

What is your role?

I am a Senior Structural Engineer in our Glasgow office, working as part of a team at all levels. It is my role to help with the overall structural design and make way for integrated solutions by collaborating with stakeholders across all disciplines.

How long have you been with Pick Everard?

I started with Pick Everard in March of this year. It has been a great opportunity to establish myself within a new environment and over the past 9 months, I have worked with a host of enthusiastic and inspiring new people.

What achievement are you most proud of this year?

Whilst I have many achievements over the year, the one that stands out the most is settling into the new team at Pick Everard and feeling like a valued part in the ongoing success from the overall performance of the team. It is by continually looking forward and setting a good precedent that we can thrive together.

How would you summarise 2021? How has the year been for you so far?

As with the previous year, 2021 has been a continuous effort to adapt to change. The collective effort within the industry to seamlessly work from home, office or on site has helped immensely to adapt to a new way of working.

Is there anything you want to accomplish in 2022?

With a positive 2021 behind me, I would like to explore and expand on the available technologies that help streamline collaborative work over the coming year. In particular, I would be keen to incorporate systems that can help effective and clear communication like the use of collaboration platforms to give the ability to foster networking capabilities.
