What attracted you to Pick Everard?

I first learnt about Pick Everard at a university careers fair in my first year at university. I then applied for a summer placement here and completed three summer placements in the hydraulic modelling team. As well as being a local company, I was very impressed with the atmosphere in the office and the opportunities I was given to learn from the experience of others.

What attracted you to work in your discipline?

I really enjoyed my summer placements in the hydraulic modelling team, but I decided that I wanted to try a different discipline. Whilst I had done very little about highways at university, I did some online courses about cycling infrastructure, which were interesting and enjoyable. On bike rides, I was also fascinated by how existing roads were altered to take account of new developments.

How would people you work with describe your attitude and mindset?

Due to the pandemic, I haven’t physically met the people I am working with yet. However, I would describe myself as focused and organised, with a logical way of thinking. I am enthusiastic about what I am working on – I am keen to learn and prepared to ask questions.

What are your goals for the next 5 years?

Over the last 3 months I have enjoyed working on a range of projects. I am now looking forward to working on a project from start to finish and seeing it develop over time. I am also excited about taking the next steps to becoming a chartered civil engineer.
