What is your role at Pick Everard?

I am a senior civil engineer focusing on drainage and external works design. My responsibility is to design and manage a project from conception to construction following standard design codes and client expectations.

What attracted you to Pick Everard?

Pick Everard is a multi-disciplinary construction consultant which has a great reputation and offer great opportunities across the industry.

I was looking for a place where I can continue to develop my career, and at Pick Everard I have been given the opportunity to expand my expertise and to work to deliver better together.

How has Pick Everard supported you on your route to chartership?

I am working towards becoming a chartered engineer and working alongside my team is very important to receive the support I need. There are many resources available which Pick Everard have provided to support me such as our internal platform where lots of CPDs and training courses are available, to having a delegated engineer assigned to mentor me through this process.

What inspired you to pursue a career in civil engineering?

The construction industry is one of the largest segments of business which creates lots of opportunities and can make an impact. I have always wanted to make a positive impact and by becoming a civil engineer, it’s allowed me to contribute to the ecological sustainability of the planet by designing to the three core concepts of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get started in civil engineering?

I would say if you are passionate about buildings and want to contribute to the planet, people and economy then this is the right industry where you can express and implement your technical thinking and make a positive impact on the world.
