Inspiring the next generation

14 Mar 2023

Pick Everard Talent Coordinator, Bethany Serino, discusses the importance of support, mentorship and training programmes for individuals in the early part of their career journey.

According to the Graduate labour market statistics report produced on the 9th of June 2022 in 2021 there was an 86.7% graduate employment rate across the UK. A number that had increased from the previous year’s statistics. This is great news for aspiring early careers professionals who are looking to embark on their career journey for 2023.

For many Students, Graduates and Junior Professionals, choosing a role to step into can be brand new. With a plethora of options available, it can be difficult to distinguish between opportunities and decide on the right business for you.

Providing individuals with the chance to shine has always been a priority at Pick Everard, but with 2023 now firmly underway, we are looking more closely at how we can encourage exceptional people to grow alongside us, particularly in their early career.

With our ambitious Plan25 business plan, we have embarked on a journey from Good to Great and have set out specific aspirations and targets to allow us to continue to deliver excellence. Recruiting and retaining individuals in the early part of their career journey is now a vital component of our strategy, to ensure that we remain forward-thinking industry leaders within the built environment.

People who join us often describe how energising working at Pick Everard can be, as we are proud to entrust colleagues at all levels to express and implement their creative vision. An entry level role serves as a basis on which to grow, so we feel it is important to allow junior professionals in all disciplines the chance to take on responsibility and lead with real drive and ambition. Often, a fresh pair of eyes and an innovative mindset can add exceptional value to the work that established teams undertake, and can make the difference between delivering expected excellence, and delivering something truly exceptional.

‘If you’ve got the drive, you’re guaranteed success.’ – Amanda Baille, Assistant Project Manager
