On the 23rd May, the Interiors Team at Pick Everard took the opportunity to visit the UK’s leading design festival in Clerkenwell.

The design festival which runs over 3 days, sees over 130 resident showrooms and over 200 exhibitors showcase the latest trends and newest products for 2023. The festival is open to the public and trade, offering visitors the opportunity to stroll the streets of Clerkenwell freely whilst having the opportunity to speak to industry experts about project specifics and gain new knowledge of products.

During our visit this year, we had the opportunity to visit several showrooms including flooring, tile and furniture suppliers. ‘OCEE Four Design’ invited us to sit in on a talk called: ‘Green or Greenwashing’, a critical and open discussion which helped us understand more about the environmental impact of products and misconceptions which surround them.

A product which stood out to us in OCEE Four Design:

  • FOURUs Work booth with pivot table and shelf. This product with mobile table gives flexibility to working and allows users to create an acoustically sound environment within a busy working office.

Orangebox proved yet again that they are at the forefront of sustainability with their ‘No Green Bull… we all win or we all lose’ campaign. We were impressed by their commitment to refine and streamline their existing products whilst ensuring that there is a conscious effort to reduce their carbon footprint. The long running and favourite ‘DO chair’ was a highlight of the showroom on the top floor with the promise to ‘do better’. Orangebox are doing what they can to reuse waste going to landfill by taking things like banana skins and other household items and putting them into the production of new ‘DO chairs’.

Spacestor’s new showroom was almost immersive with the showcase of their Arcadia ‘New landscape for work’ range. The modular kit of parts construction, pure geometric shapes and patented quick release joining system means shapes can be reused and reconfigured over and over again to experiment and evolve which is ideal with the ever changing workplace.

The team look forward to visiting again next year to explore the latest, up and coming trends which will help to influence our approach to designs going forward within Pick Everard.

A few showrooms which stood out to the team included:

  • Orangebox
  • Shaw Contract
  • Domus Tiles
  • OCEE Four Design
  • Spacestor
