Bury team conquer 23-mile Brecon Beacons hike for EACH
12 Nov 2025
A team from Pick Everard’s Bury office has completed a major fundraising challenge in support of East Anglian Children’s Hospice.
On 28 June 2025, a 20-strong team from Pick Everard’s Bury office completed a demanding 23-mile sponsored hike in the Brecon Beacons, starting in Talybont-on-Usk and ascending to Pen y Fan before returning to their starting point. The route took around 12 hours and tested the group with steep climbs, exposed ridgelines and shifting weather, but strong teamwork saw everyone finish together.
The challenge raised £3,472 for East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH). EACH was selected as the beneficiary because it is the Bury office’s local charity, providing specialist care and support to children, young people and their families across the region.
From the Talybont Reservoir up through forestry tracks to open moorland and on to Pen y Fan’s summit, careful pacing, regular checkpoints and shared encouragement kept spirits high throughout the day. The team is grateful to colleagues, friends and family whose donations and messages of support helped make the effort worthwhile.
The funds raised will help EACH continue its vital work for families who rely on its services—turning a memorable day in the hills into meaningful impact close to home.
