With the Building Safety Act 2022 bringing significant regulatory changes to the built environment, the dedicated team will provide specialist support to clients navigating the complexities of the BSA ensuring compliance, safety, and best practice across all projects.

Backed by Pick Everard’s multi-disciplinary expertise, the team is further strengthened by two newly appointed specialists, Vaso Vaina and Hassie Koromah, who will work alongside a growing number of experienced BSA consultants across the firm’s 13 UK offices.

Together, the duo brings 40 years of combined experience to the business, strengthening Pick Everard’s capability in building safety leadership.

“Joining Pick Everard’s BSA team is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the way we approach building safety.

The Building Safety Act has reshaped how projects need to be delivered, and I’m looking forward to helping clients and our teams confidently navigate these changes. By providing guidance, evidence tracking, and compliance support, we can simplify the process and drive meaningful improvements in building safety.”

— Vaso Vaina, associate principal designer at Pick Everard and chair of the RIBA Surrey branch

In her new role, Vaso will work closely with all duty holders, ensuring they can evidence and discharge their legal responsibilities under the Building Safety Act 2022. She will also oversee the planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of the design process to ensure compliance.

“The excellent reputation of Pick Everard and its collaborative approach initially drew me in, and I knew that my skillset would benefit the growing BSA team.

With experience in building regulations and dealing with complex high-rise buildings, I’m looking forward to supporting clients and promoting efficiency in their compliance strategies.”

— Hassie Koromah, associate building regulations consultant

Hassie is a Class 3 and 4 registered building inspector and is also a member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).

“The demand for guidance around the BSA has grown significantly as many of our clients seek clarity on their responsibilities and the steps required for compliance. In response, we have established a dedicated BSA team and brought in some of the best talent in the industry to lead it.

The appointments of Vaso and Hassie strengthen our ability to deliver clear, actionable advice that ensures the success of every project. With a nationally operating team, we are well-positioned to provide this support at scale, giving clients across the UK the confidence that their buildings meet the highest safety standards.”
