Beth Shipstone, Graduate Sustainability Consultant

4 Nov 2021

What is your role?

Within my role of being a graduate sustainability consultant I work alongside other sustainability consultants to ensure that projects we work on achieve high levels of energy performance and efficiency within the built environment.

What attracted you to Pick Everard?

Pick Everard stood out from other firms in terms of their collaborative ethos and having the flexibility of working alongside a variety of different disciplines within the same practice. I really wanted to work in a firm where my development is supported and to have a clear path of progression and I believe Pick Everard offers this.

What attracted you to work in your discipline?

I always wanted to be in a career where I can create a change, no matter how big or small, particularly in terms of implementing sustainable strategies. I believe being within a consultancy firm in the built environment I am able to make a genuine difference to communities and the environment.

How would people you work with describe your attitude and mindset?

I believe people who I work with in the Sustainability & Energy team would describe me as being proactive and always putting 100% into everything I do!

What are your goals in the next 5 years?

Within the next 5 years I would like to eventually become a BREEAM assessor within the team and continue to experience working on a variety of projects to help achieve the ultimate goal of Net Zero Carbon design within the built environment.
