We were appointed to manage delivery of a new leisure centre procured under the Scape National Major Works Framework. We also assisted the client with a bid to raise essential funds.
This substantial build included two pools, sauna and steam rooms, fitness suite, weights room and two dance studios, as well as three 3G five-a-side pitches. The project had many stakeholders, including the council’s executive team, so extensive consultation was required to ensure individual requirements were met.
We established a clear governance structure for the project; providing a single point of contact between our team and the council’s executive team ensured they were always kept up to date. We also recommended raising the building and 3G pitches due to the build site’s location within a flood zone. This significantly reduced the danger of future flooding.
- Pool tanks were designed from stainless steel rather than concrete to ensure high levels of quality control could be met.
- Assisted the council with their bid for an additional £1.5m funding from Sport England.
