Willow Green is a 270-plot residential neighbourhood running alongside a new riverside park. It’s an ongoing phased development, with Phase 1 completed in 2013 and Phase 2 due for completion in 2015.
Working with the masterplanner, Pick Everard is providing full infrastructure design, including on-site highways and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). This includes obtaining approvals from the drainage board, sewerage company and local highways authority.
A system of open drains owned by the Internal Drainage Board required alteration as part of the design. Working with the Board, we incorporated SuDS into the new development, satisfying their requirements in terms of ecology and improved flood mitigation.
A car park for external visitors has integrated the development with the new riverside park, while the on-site highways promote social cohesion by providing shared surfaces for cars, pedestrians and cyclists.
