We were appointed to bring the Walkers Pie back to Leicester’s high street – where the brand began over 150 years ago.

The brief

When the original butcher’s shop became available in early 2013, the company looked to Pick Everard to bring the brand back to life. With a dilapidated building on their hands, their brief was to generate a store concept which epitomized their brand – bringing to life a retail offering to site alongside other prominent high-street brands.

Our response

We initially focused on the heritage of the brand – which had expanded from its early roots way beyond the high street to a national company. Using this research, we combined this with contemporary market insight to generate a fresh concept, tailored to the building fabric. The positioning of the brand was key – providing a hot-food offer for a new market for lunchtime trade with providing for the loyal followers of the brand. The overall look and feel of the branded space was a result of considered layout, materials, details and imagery – to create a cohesive concept.

Key facts

  • Creation of fresh retail concept.
  • Working with constraints of period building.
  • Coordinated design elements creating cohesive branded space.
