Summary

This project was for a new supermarket development, incorporating a fitness centre, offices and covered car park on a brownfield site in Maypole on the southern approach to Birmingham.

The brief

Our brief was to provide full design services from inception to completion and create a high-quality development with distinctive architecture. The local authority was insistent from the outset that it would only approve a design which involved a landmark building.

Our response

Working as part of a dedicated team we maintained strong communication links with local residents and other major stakeholders in order to keep them happy. The outcome was a highly commended design that fulfilled both the client’s and the local planning authority’s requirements for a landmark building.
