This ongoing project includes the technical audit of the National Grid’s facilities management services, including quality management systems; performance measurement systems; health, safety and environmental legislation; and relevant statutory requirements / industry guidance.

The brief

We are commissioned to manage an audit programme covering 35 sites per year. This involves a desktop review of outstanding actions and summary reports. We also carry out site audits in conjunction with the facilities management provider and assess key deliverables. Finally, we provide reports on performance and outstanding actions, including summary trend analysis.

Our response

Our critical work identifies any shortfalls in technical performance and delivery standards. It also raises early awareness of health, safety and environmental risks. The work supports an incentivised performance measurement system and identifies cost-saving opportunities.

Key facts

  • We have carried out a continuous programme of site audits since 2001.
  • We have developed bespoke audit templates to add value to the process.
