Our designs for the refurbishment and development of the council’s existing buildings, one of which was listed, nearly tripled the previous capacity of the campus.
We were employed to refurbish the existing offices and extend one of the buildings to provide a new council chamber and offices. Maintaining access for council employees and customers was essential, as was avoiding disruption to public services. Two existing buildings were also linked to form a reception area.
Our team developed a sophisticated phasing and decant plan to avoid disrupting delivery of public services on the site; this plan was managed between our team, the council, and the contractor.
To accommodate upgrades to IT systems across the campus, we pre-installed cabling that allowed the gradual introduction of new equipment as work phases progressed.
“Pick Everard brought much needed structure to a previously organic project, but continued to respond effectively to a fluid decision making environment.” – David Clark, Interim Team Manager
