The £11.8m Centre of Excellence for Composites Advanced Manufacture and Marine provides flexible teaching facilities and open plan workshops together with a café, staff offices and WC’s for 500 students and staff.
The client required a 3050m2 design to meet the requirements of the College’s industrial partner, GKN, to equip students with skills for the workplace. The brief required us to design and deliver a high quality learning facility with flexible spaces to teach key engineering skills.
We provided a modern, high quality facility for 21st century learning and teaching, receiving a BREEAM ‘Very Good rating. The design continued the branding and design ethic of the College’s other buildings in this highly specialised facility.
