Pick Everard was commissioned to provide Mechanical & Electrical Engineering services for the development of a new speculative laboratory building.

The Brief

The client required the design of world class installations that fully captured their unique requirements, creating an international centre of excellence reflecting the region’s world leading reputation for marine science research and development.

It was also vital that the new facilities were highly energy efficient and maximised flexibility for future tenants.

Our Response

Our experts designed a flexible facility with capacity to accommodate additional laboratory space in the future, should the need arise. Moreover, services routes were laid out to seamlessly integrate future tenants without disrupting service delivery to existing users.

Numerous sustainable features were incorporated, including a wood pellet fuelled biomass boiler, sized and configured to allow for the installation of an additional boiler.
