To help with population growth and increasing congestion, the council decided to build Colchester’s first park & ride. The completed site needed to accommodate 1,000 cars as well as a bus terminal.
This was a high-profile project. The building at the heart of the construction was complex and bespoke, and further complexity was added by an accelerated timeline to ensure the site was completed in time for Easter. Pick Everard was employed to work on site, monitoring costs and progress.
We fostered a collaborative approach between the client and contractor to review and approve the accelerated program, and supported the development of the delivery plan. An additional Project Manager was assigned to monitor the critical elements of the project and keep them on track to ensure we delivered the project on time.
- Assisted the council in the development of a media strategy, emphasising the positive benefits of the project.
- Overcame harsh winter weather and allowed work to continue by enveloping the scaffold with a membrane.
