Pick Everard appointed to new ESPO Framework for sustainability and fire risk consultancy
Public sector organisations can now gain specialist sustainability and fire risk consultancy through the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) with the appointment of multidisciplinary architectural and engineering practice Pick Everard (among other providers) to a new framework.
Pick Everard now adds both sustainability and fire risk consultancy within a new national framework, expanding its remit of comprehensive professional services already provided through ESPO. The new framework initially run for 14 months, but may be extended to two years.
Sustainability is a top priority for the public sector in both natural and built environments. Pick Everard has in-house specialist, environmental management and building physics expertise which identify the best possible options for a project. Using the latest thermal and daylight modelling capabilities combined with in-depth knowledge of advanced forms of construction have been vital in designing and engineering modern, high-performance, low-energy buildings for schools, prisons, local authorities and NHS trusts.
Sustainability consultancy services available from Pick Everard through ESPO include flood risk assessment, ecological surveys, contamination advice, environmental impact, waste reduction, BREEAM, sustainable drainage (SUDS) green travel, carbon reduction and renewable energy systems.
Fire safety consultancy uses Fire Risk Assessments to ensure buildings are safe and comply with requirements under the Regulatory Reform Order 2005. Assessments are risk-based and prioritise actions required to improve safety. Specific fire safety training can also be provided to develop any individual’s fire safety skills.
Andrew Bannister, Pick Everard’s Sustainability and Environment Manager said the firm’s expertise would give local authorities invaluable support in achieving sustainable development projects. “ESPO provides an easy route for public bodies to access the services they need and we are able to offer an excellent fit, from policy writing to technical consultancy that will ensure local authorities achieve their targeted results.”
ESPO is a joint committee of local authorities, based in Leicestershire, acting as a purchasing agent for its members and extending nationwide. ESPO’s aim is to deliver quality-assured, cost-effective solutions in the procurement and supply of goods and services.
