Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Trust appoints Pick Everard for energy reduction schemes

Pick Everard has been appointed as building services consultants to Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust, a foundation trust, which includes Goole, Scunthorpe, and Grimsby Hospitals. Using its leading edge engineering expertise in sustainable design and building physics, Pick Everard will design and deliver fifteen energy reduction schemes by March 2010.

By introducing more energy efficient heating and control systems, Pick Everard will assist Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust to reduce its energy consumption.

Pick Everard’s industry-leading building physics specialists will carry out detailed studies, studying and modelling each building in detail, to determine the existing energy performance and the potential for energy savings and renewable energy. Possible measures could range from the simplest common-sense efficiency savings such as making sure existing plant is working at optimum efficiency, to innovative new systems such as space-saving air source heat pumps, solar water heating, low-energy lighting systems and photo-voltaic power generation systems.

This latest appointment continues Pick Everard’s long history of working effectively in healthcare in the UK. The practice is currently working to upgrade the infrastructure and modernise facilities in several hospitals and healthcare centres including a £1 million infrastructure project at Ailsa hospital for NHS Ayrshire and Arran and a new Outpatients department, dental clinic and on the conversion of a concert hall into an NHS call centre facility at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Scotland.

John Simkin at Pick Everard comments, “Replacing plant is the ideal time to implement energy reduction measures that will have a real impact on future energy consumption. We are delighted with our appointment as building services consultants and to be working with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Trust.”
