Pick Everard Welcomes Talented Graduate Trio into the Fold

The future looks bright – in triplicate – for leading architectural and engineering practice Pick Everard – after taking on three university graduates with first class honours degrees.

The multi-award-winning practice is thrilled to add further talent to its ranks, specifically in the form of Natalie Pickford, graduating in civil and architectural engineering from the University of Bath, and Paul Simkin and Philip France, both of whom graduated from the University of Nottingham, with degrees in civil engineering.

Both Natalie and Paul are already familiar with their new workplace, Natalie having taken part in the firm’s engineering work placement programme, and Paul, who did a work placement and was sponsored by Pick Everard throughout his degree course.

Natalie’s first experience of Pick Everard was through her degree’s second work placement. Based in the Leicester office, Natalie worked in the architectural, civil and structural engineering departments over a six-month period. She says: “I particularly enjoyed working on the new Leicester Grammar School project. For me, producing a sustainable design is very important and Pick Everard’s holistic approach means we can achieve that.” She added, “It’s a brilliant working environment - people are so down to earth and you can approach anyone with a question.”

Civil engineer Paul has a particular passion for large-scale projects. He said: “I heard about the sponsorship programme through my father, who works at Pick Everard. I’m looking forward to what I think will be a good challenge and some great projects. I love working in situations where you are dealing with lots of contacts and have many different factors to co-ordinate.”

Philip, 22, is the most recent to join the Pick Everard team. He said: “There’s a professional yet relaxed atmosphere here and everyone is very supportive. It’s good to be using the skills I learnt at university on some interesting and challenging projects”.

Pick Everard partner Duncan Green is delighted to welcome all three on board. He said: “We all hope that Natalie, Paul and Philip settle in well. Their credentials and capabilities precede them, so we’re extremely excited about the combined talents and fresh skills they will bring to what is already a highly successful and respected practice. We wish them all well.”
