Rutland Architectural Award for Pick Everard 28 January 2008

Architectural practice Pick Everard has been awarded the prestigious George Phillips Award for 2007. Presented at Oakham Castle, the award recognises the most significant contribution to conserving the character of the built environment of Rutland. Pick Everard designed Little’s Boarding House, a new development for Oakham School.

The boarding house, for 30 boarders and 24 day pupils, was designed to fit in with the character of the surrounding properties, and judges from Rutland County Council and the Rutland Local History and Record Society agreed. Lady Campden presented the owner of the project with a plaque in the shape of the traditional Rutland horseshoe that can be attached to the building, and architect Michael Goodhart from Pick Everard received a certificate acknowledging the firm’s part in the project.
