Pick Everard appointed as OGC consultants 20 August 2007

Leading construction consultancy practice Pick Everard has been awarded a prestigious framework agreement with OGCbuying.solutions, (an executive agency of the Office of Government Commerce), running from the 1st September 2007 until August 2011, providing multi-disciplinary Technical Assurance Services.

The Technical Assurance Framework Agreement can be used by any publicly funded bodies, such as Central Government departments and agencies, local authorities and LEAs, NHS trusts, non-departmental public bodies and charitable, arts and lottery funded organisations. The Government is keen to promote the use of framework agreements, to help public sector organisations maximize efficiency and achieve better value for money in their procurement activities so that savings can be re-invested in front line activities. Core technical assurance services include strategic planning, procurement advice, management support, technical inspections, monitoring, audit and performance evaluations.

Reducing the length of the average procurement programme by approximately 11 weeks, using the OGCbuying.solutions framework agreement allows substantial cost savings to be made.

This contract award emphasises Pick Everard's expertise and ability to meet the high standards set by OGCbuying.solutions. Pick Everard has first hand experience of delivering the benefits of enhanced project control and 'best value' from working on a number of other national framework contracts with clients such as the Home Office National Offender Management Services, National Grid and Severn Trent Water. Commission director at Pick Everard, Alastair Hamilton, commented, "This framework brings together a number of core skills we provide to the public and private sector and now enables us to provide support to a much wider public sector market".
