Engineering Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Technician in our Taunton office. The job holder will be responsible for preparing elemental design and CAD drawings (including reinforcement drawings/schedules), developing details of design from engineer’s sketch and carry out general administration and issuing of drawings. Duties will also include carrying out survey work and simple on-site technical assessments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Design office experience with a consultancy or contractor, working with architects and building services engineers 
• Ability to interpret drawings into finished product
•   A good eye for detail
•   Understanding of construction practicalities and detail standards
•  AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
•   Knowledge of RC detailing and scheduling to British Standards
• Understanding of engineering/structural/civil drawings
• Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice
•   Knowledge of structural engineering modelling
•   Associate or Technician grade of IStructE or ICE – significant relevant design experience in lieu of formal academic qualification may be acceptable
•  Full UK driving licence
